Art stored in digitally controlled shelves

About 1 million works of art on paper are stored in the Albertina Museum’s 24 metre deep shelving canyons in Vienna. The shelves are fully automatic and digitally controlled, protected against direct light, temperature fluctuations, dampness and bacteria. The museum’s collection offers a rich overview of 600 years of art history.
