Car-free day

Paris car free

Paris held its first car-free day on 27 Sept 2015 as a clever way of promoting the UN Climate Conference to be held there from 30 Nov. The move follows a severe pollution spike in March, when Parisians woke up to discover the Eiffel Tower enveloped in smog. It also follows similar car-free days by Brussels, Montreal, Jakarta and other cities over the past 15 years.
