China’s state news agency has debuted a virtual anchor, an AI news reader, designed to be able to deliver the news 24 hours a day. Developed by Xinhua and Chinese search engine company Sogou, the anchor has been designed to simulate human voice, facial expressions and gestures. A drone that leads the way in mapping underground

Hovermap technology allows drones to collect data in underground areas, or other locations in which GPS is not reliable. It’s the result of a decade of research from CSIRO’s robotics and autonomous systems group. The drones can be deployed without a human controller and can create 3D maps, record gas readings and take images and videos.. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is launching a Smart Time Management System at venues of events such as exhibitions and conferences. The system enables the RTA to get real time data on numbers of visitors then deploy the appropriate number of transit means. It also enables passengers to get information on the number of available vehicles along with the expected waiting time. A new event that makes it easy to test ideas posted online

IdeaSpies and ReadyFundGo combined today to produce a new type of event at the Spark Festival that allows people to test their ideas by posting them on IdeaSpies. Seeing the ideas online made it easy for the group to offer feedback. Advice on crowdfunding was also offered by ReadyFundGo.. Eleven ideas were posted at the session and they were kept online afterwards if requested., The two best ideas won a ticket each to StartCon 2018 in Sydney.
