Harbor seals in Scotland will be receiving smartphone technology in an effort to address their sharp population decline, as a result of a new partnership between marine biologists at the University of St Andrews with Vodafone. Seals will be harmlessly tagged with devices which are equipped with Vodafone’s new machine-to-machine technology, sending crucial information from each seal back to the scientists.
