Waratah inspired Western Sydney International Airport design
With the release of the new Western Sydney International Airport featuring a traditional rectangular structured terminal, I propose an alternative exterior design for the terminal. The design inspired by the Waratah plant which is an iconic native Australian flora represents Australia’s unique diverse culture. The final design will be dynamic, sustainable, aesthetically pleasing and designed to provide efficient travel. This will address the needs associated with the local community, rapid increase in immigration, international air travel and the expansion of Western Sydney.I seek expertise from Architects to assist in evaluating and improving my design, any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
A reusable cutlery solution, replacing the need for single-use plastic cutlery.
The overuse of single-use plastic cutlery has led to a declining ecological condition of the Earth. My design is a reusable cutlery solution that allows for easy use of a knife, fork, and spoon in a single and interchangeable system of items, which are easily used and comfortable for the end-user. This project will focus on creating a product consumers will want to reuse rather than dispose of after use as with single-use plastics. System multifunctionality and interchangeability will deter customers from their usual purchase of many items.Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.
Gender inequality and injuries in womens contact sports.
Womens sport went professional more than 40 years ago and yet it is still heavily unfunded and supported. At the same time players are much more vulnerable to injury due to the lack of protective equipment due to gender bias around available products and designs. The focus for my project is to create a solution to reduce the risk of breast injuries in women's contact sport. I am designing a women's protective chest pad. I'm looking to find the right technical support (what materials would be the most protective) and suitable manufacturers to bring this idea to life. Thank you
An Online Kindness Bank
In Australia over 13 million people are without a financial backup plan for emergency situations. Many Australians struggle with their bills and have no way out in the event of a personal financial crisis. Therefore I propose the idea of an online kindness bank which will allow people all over the world to contribute to others whilst others contribute to them in the event of a financial crisis. This will be developed into an app to allow more people to have access and get involved in the generosity of humanity.
The Disposable Mask Task
The outbreak of COVID has forced fear and caution onto the modern-day consumer who now values their safety and wellbeing more than previously. This has resulted in the overproduction of disposable face masks. Although an innovative response to the situation, disposable masks have found their way to the oceanfront and the elasticated strings are becoming tangled around the limbs of marine animals and birds. Therefore, my solution involves repurposing the unused masks and cutting the strings off them to create a tangible product that will benefit my Target Market such as clothing or homeware.Your advice would benefit me greatly!
